Let us remember an Unknown Friend.

Let us remember a fine young man.

I will bet that he was a good person, though I have never personally seen or spoken to him before.

Nor will I have the chance to speak or see him again.

As you notice, this is the first post where it reveals something about my life.

On the 2nd September 2006, I was writing a piece of slow and sad music on my computer…then I noticed that on msn, my sec 1 friends had put up nicks in commemoration of this person named Lim Hong Wei, who had passed away on the previous day. Thus I dedicated the song to him.

Let us see what others have said about him.

“For two whole days, I have been wanting to write this, but nothing came out. A very dear junior of mine, Hong Wei, just passed away of heart attack on teachers' day. I could have written about how sad i was when i first received news or how betrayed i felt when i realized that it was already two days before i knew of the news. But, I'm going to talk about the unity. When Hong Wei passed away, fellow friends and teachers came to pay their respects whether they knew him personally or through a friend. Some teachers came for both days, others came for just one. However, its not the duration that counts, rather, its the fact that they came. News traveled much further because people cared for him. Hong Wei was a good friend, junior and Asst. Chairman. Even though he is gone, he is lucky enough to have friends who care for him. Just take a look at the 6c Website. They put in a lot of effort to wish him all the best. What i saw was a scene not much different from the 911 tragedy. People putting aside their differences to come together. People like Colin Cheng, Leong Jun Hoe, Tawan and Martin put in a lot of effort to show what a nice guy Hong Wei was. Too bad he could not make it for the CMC camp, it would have been a lot more fun with him around.

“Soon, as we reached the bball court, we saw many many people there playing already. After walking for such a long distance, decided to play there since it would have been a waste of energy after walking so far and not playing at all. Despite the people there, they carried on. I did not play. There were too many people and I did not enjoy the sport much in the first place. I bid farewell and left.

The next morning, 2/9/2006, Hong Wei's aunt called me. She said that Hong Wei had passed away.

I found out from Jason this morning later on that Hong Wei knocked off after playing a 30 min game. He had some heart problems and after looking at the tiring day, he overworked too much. He died in the hospital at 11:58pm.

Well, over the next few days, or rather 3 days, I had to tell Hong Wei's girlfriends, and friends, and contacts, and classmates. I was beat out at the beginning of the holidays. Like Wth...

Anw, luckily I saved a whole list of Hong Wei's contacts the day before. So I added Hong Wei's GFs and told them lohhs. Many of them did not believe. Seriously. Until now, Elisha Yeo, Pri 6 still does not believe. Its up to her. No use me continue telling her for like so many days.

Yar, the next few days also included his funeral and stuff. The whole school knows about it now. Seriously. All the teachers came for his funeral, Mr Chen, Mrs Ling, Hu LAo Shi, Ms Victor, Ms Saras, Mr Yao, all were there. People sobbed.. Hong Wei was a good guy. This fact has inspired lots of ppl to friend him. Hong Wei is gone. I bet everyone in CHS misses him. Hong Wei you must Jia You jia You worx!

  • A person tries to be a normal boy even with his disabilities
  • A person who likes to mix new friends(or rather friends wants to mix with him)

Hong Wei, we all understand.

We have all been affected by your actions directly or indirectly.

You must have been a wonderful person, though I have and will never meet you.

Let us pray to our own gods, which has always been the same God, but whom people insist on calling Him different names.

Let us pray that his soul is free, having completed the tasks that God has given to him when he was still on this earth.

Let us pray that, when we have something important to accomplish, we do it now, for Death sits by our side, giving us courage to finish these tasks.

Let us pray that, at the point of his death, he was thoroughly alive.
