The last time i blogged was...erm...November 26th...and today is the 28th March...how many months have passed?
Person A: "Dunno leh, my mat-the-matik very the bad one...o'level jia lat liao."
Person B: "Er...(raises hands to count) wan, too, tree, for? for months ar."
Person C: "according to my great quantum-super-hyper-calculator it has been approximately 4 months and 2.746329483261193849604 days since he last blogged."
So who's right? HECK CARE LA. I'm here means i'm here laa.
1st year in NAFA's over. i began this musical journey last june...and the academic year ends now. School starts again in July, (WTF 4months hols!) cos the sch board is rescheduling the school year...yup so from the next academic year it'll start in july and end in april, leaving 2 months (may and june, clashes with sec skoo and jc hols!) hols for 'year end'.
So much has happened during these four months...i've learnt much more musical knowledge than i thought was possible...and am now rather infatuated with Indonesian Classical Music, namely Central Javanese Gamelan. why, u can hear it on this blog! of cuz fer those of u who dun like this, jus try turning off your speakers. its rather effective. Btw gamelan is as complicated as western music...not much shallower. needs years to master...as for me learning how to play and appreciate it is rather enough la. I'm a composition major in NAFA, so ya these kinda ethnic musical knowledge is rather good for me.
The most back-breaking subject in NAFA? HISTORY. music history tht is...considering that the lecturer was a child prodigy and now a genius...she's a really nice lecturer but really gives us a lot of work to do too. such that we spend so much more time on history than our principal study...but haha now its over...until july. It's worth the effort la.
As for now i've got a 'part time job' at CHS...teaching music theory up to grade 3 to interested primary four kids. Tough job trying to keep kids seated and quiet...well we were once kids too haha. Every wednesday and friday mornings from 7 to 8 am...yup so juniors if u see me in skoo stop asking why i'm there...now u KNOW why :D
Some Pics of wad happened in these months...more to come...

After the Andrew Aw concert..where some of my arrangements (comissioned by Andrew Aw himself!) were premiered.

At the Andrew Aw concert.

Me playing 'bonang panerus'...14 pots (gong chimes) on a wooden rack.

Lou Harrison's Double Concerto for Violin, Cello and Gamelan Orchestra on 7th Feb in nafa...by NAFA's 'Gamelan Sekar Tunjung' group.
So many things have happened...new friends made, arguments, tears, blood, (BLOOD?) and even love (try not to ask me abt that...)...yar. will post some audio of my compositions the next post...for now here's a short urban legend (love those)...u noe i love telling stories... P.S tag my tagboard! its nice, new and clean... :)
"A professor gave a single word question for the philosophy year end exam paper:
All the rest flunked." :)
